Cross
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him.
And without him was not one thing made that was made.
In him was life,
and the life was the light of men.
The light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness did not overcome it.
— John 1:1-5†
Invitatory
The Lord has ransomed Jacob,
and redeemed him from the hand of the strong.
They will come and sing in the height of Zion,
and will flow to the goodness of the Lord,
to the grain, to the new wine, to the oil,
and to the young of the flock and of the herd.
Their soul will be as a watered garden.
They will sorrow no more.
Then the virgin will rejoice in the dance,
the young men and the old together;
for I will turn their mourning into joy,
and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.
I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness,
and my people will be satisfied with my goodness, says the Lord.
— Jeremiah 31:11-14†
Cruciform
Praise the Lord, O Jerusalem!
Praise your God, O Zion!
For he has strengthened the bars of your gates.
He has blessed your children within you.
He makes peace in your borders.
He fills you with the finest of the wheat.
He sends out his commandment to the earth.
And his word runs swiftly.
— Psalm 147:12-15†
Weeks
No one has ever seen God.
It is God the only Son,
who is close to the Father‘s heart,
who has made him known.
— John 1:18
Dimissory
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing,
even as he chose us before the world‘s foundation,
that we would be holy and without defect before him in love,
having destined us for adoption as children through Christ,
according to the good pleasure of his desire.
— Ephesians 1:3-5†
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
