{"id":3993,"date":"2024-12-08T06:26:00","date_gmt":"2024-12-08T06:26:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/anglicanrosary.org\/?p=3993"},"modified":"2024-11-25T13:22:39","modified_gmt":"2024-11-25T13:22:39","slug":"2nd-of-advent-c","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/anglicanrosary.org\/en\/2024\/12\/08\/2nd-of-advent-c\/","title":{"rendered":"2nd of Advent"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>Cross<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. <strong>Amen.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel;&nbsp; &nbsp;<br><strong>he has come to his people and set them free.<\/strong> &nbsp;<br>He has raised up for us a mighty saviour,&nbsp; &nbsp;<br><strong>born of the house of his servant David.<\/strong> &nbsp;<br>Through his holy prophets he promised of old, &nbsp;<br><strong>that he would save us from our enemies,<\/strong> &nbsp;<br><strong>from the hands of all who hate us.<\/strong> &nbsp;<br>He promised to show mercy to our fathers&nbsp; &nbsp;<br><strong>and to remember his holy covenant.<\/strong> &nbsp;<br>This was the oath he swore to our father Abraham,&nbsp; &nbsp;<br><strong>to set us free from the hands of our enemies,<\/strong> &nbsp;<br>free to worship him without fear,&nbsp; &nbsp;<br><strong>holy and righteous in his sight<\/strong> &nbsp;<br><strong>all the days of our life.<\/strong> &nbsp;<br><em>\u2014 Benedictus Dominus Deus, Luke 1:76-79<\/em>\u25ca<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Invitatory<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prepare ye&nbsp;the&nbsp;way&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;Lord.&nbsp;<br>Make&nbsp;his&nbsp;paths&nbsp;straight.&nbsp;<br><strong>Every&nbsp;valley&nbsp;will&nbsp;be&nbsp;filled.<\/strong>&nbsp;<br><strong>Every&nbsp;mountain&nbsp;and&nbsp;hill&nbsp;will&nbsp;be&nbsp;brought&nbsp;low.<\/strong>&nbsp;<br>The&nbsp;crooked&nbsp;will&nbsp;become&nbsp;straight,&nbsp;<br>and&nbsp;the&nbsp;rough&nbsp;ways&nbsp;smooth.&nbsp;<br><strong>And all&nbsp;flesh&nbsp;will&nbsp;see&nbsp;God\u2019s&nbsp;salvation.<\/strong><br><em>\u2014 Luke 3:4-6<\/em>\u2020<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Cruciform<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Take off the garment of your mourning and affliction, O Jerusalem,<br><strong>and put on forever the beauty of the glory from God.<\/strong>&nbsp;<br>Put on the robe of the righteousness from God.<br><strong>Set on your head a diadem of the glory of the Everlasting.<\/strong><br><em>\u2014 Baruch 5:1-2<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Weeks<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;Behold,&nbsp;the messenger&nbsp;of&nbsp;the&nbsp;covenant,&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;<strong>the messenger whom&nbsp;you&nbsp;desire,&nbsp;is&nbsp;coming!<\/strong><br><em>\u2014 Malachi 3:1<\/em>\u2020<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dimissory<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You, my child, shall be called the prophet of the Most High,&nbsp; &nbsp;<br><strong>for you will go before the Lord to prepare his way,<\/strong> &nbsp;<br>to give his people knowledge of salvation&nbsp; &nbsp;<br><strong>by the forgiveness of their sins.<\/strong> &nbsp;<br>In the tender compassion of our God&nbsp; &nbsp;<br><strong>the dawn from on high shall break upon us,<\/strong> &nbsp;<br>to shine on those who dwell in darkness and the shadow of death,&nbsp; &nbsp;<br><strong>and to guide our feet into the way of peace.<\/strong> &nbsp;<br><em>\u2014 Benedictus Dominus Deus, Luke 1:76-79<\/em>\u25ca<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. <strong>Amen.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Cross In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
