Proper 17 (Thirteenth Sunday after Trinity)

Cross

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.

Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good;
Love one another with mutual affection.
Rejoice in hope, be patient in suffering, persevere in prayer.
Contribute to the needs of the saints; extend hospitality to strangers.
Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.
So far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all.
Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.

(Romans 12:9-10, 12-13, 15, 18, 21, NRSV.)

Invitatory

I go around your altar, Lord,
singing aloud a song of thanksgiving,
and telling all your wondrous deeds.
O Lord, I love the house in which you dwell,
and the place where your glory abides.

(Psalm 26:6-8, NRSV.)

Cruciform

Those who want to save their life will lose it,
and those who lose their life for my sake will find it.
For what will it profit them
if they gain the whole world but forfeit their life?
Or what will they give in return for their life?

(Mateo 16:25-26, NRSV.)

Weeks

If any want to become my followers,
let them deny themselves
and take up their cross and follow me.

(Matthew 16:24, NRSV.)

Dimissory

Thus says the Lord:
if you turn back, I will take you back,
and you shall stand before me.
I will deliver you out of the hand of the wicked,
and redeem you from the grasp of the ruthless.

(Jeremiah 15:19, 21, NRSV.)

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
